More Snow!

It just seems to never stop snowing around here! I really can't believe how much snow we have had this winter. It snowed quite a bit just while Mat and I were at the gym. When we walked to the gym, there wasn't snow on the sidewalks and then when we left there was probably a good half inch or so. I don't even know how much it has snowed since we've been home. I hope the roads aren't too bad in the morning. They usually do a great job of deicing and sanding the roads though.

My birthday is just two full days away! But before that, we'll celebrate the night we brought our kitty Ben home from the Humane Society. I remember it was the 31st of January because he didn't let us sleep the entire night. He just cried and cried and I was so tired on my birthday. It was disappointing. But we love him so much and are glad he doesn't cry and keep us up at night now!

I am going to lunch with my sister the day before my birthday and then out to dinner with Mat and my family on my birthday night. Woohoo! I can't wait. Birthday celebrations are wonderful.

Goodbye Sweet Weekend

It is almost over and time for me to head back to work. This week will be a really busy one getting everything all ready for my conference. And then my birthday will be here on Friday!! Woohoo! I can't wait for that. I don't know what we are doing yet, but I'm sure it will be fun.

We had a nice weekend, but it was a busy one. Friday night after our workout, we met my parents for a yummy dinner at the Ram. It was fun to see them and eat a burger and fries! Saturday, Mat and I both worked and then he came to clean while I kept working. We then ran some errands and finally got home to make our homemade pizzas with whole wheat crust. It turned out pretty good! Then we watched a really bad movie called Hatchet.

Today we made it to the gym before lunch and then got ready to go to Madison's 6th birthday at Mat's sister's house. We played Disney Scene It, had cupcakes and of course opened presents!

Now we are home and we are going to heat up some leftovers. I'm ready to get into my pjs and cuddle on the couch. I think we might watch a movie or maybe play a video game. We finished our other game and now have started an older game I had that I never finished. So we're starting from the beginning. I just love playing video games! Hope you all had a great weekend!

149 Days!

Well, I really can't believe there are only 149 days between now and when Mat and I get married! I keep thinking it is forever away, but it is really going to be here before we know it! I am so excited for all of it - the wedding, the reception and our honeymoon! I am really looking forward to a nice long honeymoon with the love of my life. It really is going to be such a great time. I just wish it was next week!

But lucky me, I have another full week until my conference starts. So I just need to get through this next week and then I can start on my next conference! It really is neverending!

I got a Frommer's guide to San Diego that I have started looking through when I get a few minutes here and there. I think it is going to have all kinds of great information in it. Plus, Joy and Chad can give us the inside scoop on fun places they went when they lived there.

We got another round of snow tonight. It is so pretty and I love having the snow around. But mostly, I like it after the road people have come and sprayed the roads with deicer. Tonight when we came home it was just fresh snow that was fairly slick, but not too bad. I just hope it is okay in the morning. They are usually great about getting the roads cleared pretty fast.

I'm off to cuddle up in my electric blanket!

SO COLD

It is 12:30 pm here and has only warmed up to 16 degrees! The wind chill is about 7 (or so my weatherbug tells me). BRRR!!

Just Sitting on the Couch...

This is strange! I'm typing on a laptop at home on my couch and updating my blog. Weird. We got two new laptops at work, so I brought one home to get it all ready for our conference and thought I would just try out updating our blog on the couch. FUN! Now I want a laptop! But that is definitely not at the top of the list of things we want or need, but it is pretty fun.

We are watching 24 - the first season that we rented. We are actually on the third episode and it is pretty fun. We've never watched it before. Well, I watched some of the first season, but it has been awhile and I don't remember much at all!

Not much new around here. Just our normal trip to the gym and work today. I just like being able to cuddle on the couch with a blanket and do a little blogging! Maybe I'll just bring the laptop home more often for "work."

I'm Cold

So I will imagine I am here...

Weekend Overview

Monday is over and I can't believe that the weekend is even over! It all just goes by so fast. We did have a great weekend though. Friday started off with a lovely evening downtown at the Front Door. We met up with Laura and a couple of her friends to have a drink after work. We found out that they had one of our favorite wines there (they don't sell it in stores), but they were all out of it. So we didn't get to have it that time, but we know they carry it and we'll be back for sure. After our drink, we went home and made dinner. That was about it for the night.

Saturday, Mat worked as usual and so I just did some stuff around the house for the morning. I made us a lunch and met him at my work so we could clean. Then we went and rented some movies and went home. I stopped and bought one of those take and bake pizzas for dinner. It was pretty darn good, but not really the best for us. We just like to have one night a week that we eat something fun, so pizza it was! We played a video game that night and also watched a couple of our fun shows we record during the week.

Sunday we got up and Mat went to help his dad move while I went to the grocery store and Walmart for some essentials. Then I got our dinner all ready to be cooked that night (lasagna!). Mat got home and we kicked back for a few minutes and then headed to the gym. We did some cardio and then went to our first (and probably last) meditation class. I thought this was going to be really nice and relaxing. We really like yoga and I thought it would just be more breathing and relaxing techniques. It was the weirdest thing! We sat on pillows for about 25 minutes and we were supposed to breath in and think "just" and breathe out and think "this". While I think this is a good technique for a few minutes, 25 minutes just seemed like an eternity. Mat totally agreed with me. And to top it off, the room we were in was right next to the shower and pool entry (lots of kids) and the laundry room. Some of the kids were even knocking on the glass to the room. So there were lots of distractions and I didn't find it to be relaxing at all. But we tried it and we might try again if we feel like it.

I don't really think I got much accomplished with the wedding this weekend. I kind of think things won't be moving much until after my conference. I now have less than two weeks until it starts, so things are getting crazy at work. I'm looking forward to the end of this one. I did start back up on my knitting last night. I haven't done much in the last few weeks. Poor Mat's little head is cold without a hat! So I am trying to finish that and hope that it doesn't turn out silly looking. I also got lots of new yarn from this store that went out of business and I want to start on new projects! First, I have to finish Mat's hat.

I think it is about time to turn in. Have a good Tuesday!

Honeymoon...Check!

Well, at least part of it anyway! We booked a cruise tonight! After months of changing our minds, we decided to go to San Diego and we'll go to the San Diego Zoo and Sea World and then after a few days, we'll go on a cruise to Mexico! I am so excited that we finally decided and I know Mat is too. Finally! We still need to book our flight and our hotel room, but I don't think that will take too much time and we can do that this weekend. I'm just happy we decided.

Whoosh. Let's see... In other news, not much has happened! We have been working, working out and then sleeping. Not much time for anything else recently.

I am so excited for Friday! My birthday is exactly two weeks from tomorrow. Hooray for birthdays! So it is about time for bed, but I just am so excited to have the honeymoon decided on and partially booked! Hopefully, it will be all booked in the next few days...

Have a super Friday!

Worn Out...

Work was not too much fun today. And then Mat and I worked out after work and now it is 8:00 pm and we haven't had dinner yet. Some days are just like this, I suppose, but they are not my favorite days. I like to have some time to relax and it seems like I don't have that time much these days!

We have two big things for the wedding we are still working on and we need to get them done as soon as we can. Our honeymoon (argh!) and our invitations. Hopefully, the invitations won't be as big of a pain as planning the honeymoon. You would think it would be lots of fun to plan your honeymoon, but we are just trying to get the best deal and use my points and all that stuff and it ends up taking so much time and research and then we start second guessing ourselves and what not. But hopefully we can take care of those two items and then be able to breathe for a minute.

It will also help once my conference is over and I can feel not so bogged down at work. Tomorrow will be a really long day for me since I am heading to a little town for a meeting with some Clerks for a meeting I'm planning this summer. Summer seems so far away right now! Especially since it is so cold right now. But at least once it is over, we'll be on the downhill slope toward the weekend! Ah, that is what I look forward to. Have a good night all.

No Honeymoon...Yet!

We ended up at the cruise show just a few minutes before it ended, so no one really wanted to talk to us. We thought it went until 5, so we just took our time getting there and it closed at 3! We did go to the mall later to talk with a travel agent and got nowhere. Trying to use our points and find something we really want to do is hard. But we'll figure it out eventually!

We also started on our wedding web site. We'll give out the address when it is ready, but I think it will be so helpful. People can RSVP online, check out directions to the ceremony/reception site and whatever else we want to add on to it.

This weekend just flew by! One minute it was Friday after work and now it is Monday night. I'm 1/5 of the way through the week. :) I really thought I would get myself all organized for the wedding, but I only got a tiny bit done. That's okay though, I'll just have something to do this weekend!

I'm off to bed to read a little bit. I'm reading a Dean Koontz book - By the Light of the Moon. I'm enjoying it so far. I usually like his books pretty well though. Sleep tight!

What a Day!

Normally, I wouldn't do any blogging at work unless I am really slow. BUT today is just one of those days! I can't seem to focus on one task for more than a few minutes. There is still so much to do for my upcoming conference! I feel like all I have been doing all day is holding people's hands. So I am worn out and ready for the weekend to begin!

Mat and I are going to work out after work, but then the weekend can really start! Tomorrow morning I am going to focus myself on the wedding. I need to get organized and really see what we have left to do. I would really like to create a nice little checklist for Mat and I to work on that isn't generic. All the checklists from magazines and online are really helpful, but we're getting to the point where we need to focus more on details and not the big picture.

I had lunch today with Alana and we had a great time! I'm so glad we started getting together more recently. Hopefully, Mat and I can get together with her and her boyfriend soon for some board games or something exciting like that.

My birthday is coming up soon! I can't believe it is just around the corner. Which means Mat's is close and I better get moving on some presents for him!

Better get back to the daily grind. Have a great weekend all.

Geez...

I just typed up this whole post for tonight and then I hit publish and ERROR. So of course I couldn't get my post back. Oh well, I'll just recap...

Mat and I went to our first yoga class last night! We really enjoyed it and hope to make it a regular thing on Wednesdays. It was a beginner class and there were lots of beginners there, so we felt totally comfortable. Who knows? We might make it to an all levels or intermediate class someday!

We don't have lots of plans for the weekend, but it has seemed like the last month or so we've had lots of plans over our weekends. I'm ready to do a whole lot of nothing! We are planning to go to a travel/cruise show on Saturday with a local travel agent. Hopefully we can find a great deal and get our honeymoon booked!

I think that is about it for tonight! Hope everyone's weekends start off great tomorrow!

Bedtime!

So I am getting ready for bed and thought I should update my blog. That is my New Year's Resolution...

I don't know if everyone else feels this way, but I go through stages where I feel like there is so much I want to do and not enough hours in the day! I have five magazines I want to look through, I'm in the middle of reading a book (and have several waiting for me), I want to do more wedding planning, I want to write emails to everyone and say hello...the list goes on and on! If only I didn't have a pesky job....

We are really doing so great on wedding plans. I am hoping to get really organized this weekend and get our to do list updated. One thing we need to work on is our invitations. I think that is one of the more immediate tasks that need to be completed. But I feel good about how far we are right now!

We have been playing this fun video game the last few nights. I think I talked about it in an earlier post. But it is fun and I have really been enjoying playing video games with Mat.

We have also been doing great on our workouts. Tomorrow we are going to our first yoga class after work. I am really looking forward to it. It is a beginner class, so at least we won't feel out of place there! I really want to get into doing more yoga. So hopefully we can get into going to a class every week. Mat and I have talked about going to several of the classes the Y offers. I want to try kickboxing and there is another one called Body Pump where it combines weights with aerobics that I think would be fun.

Well, I think it is time for me to say goodnight!

Big Kitties Like Snow

Snow!

I woke up this morning to beautiful snow! We've had a few different snows already this season, but this was more of a surprise to me so it was a lot more fun!

I've been promising pictures of our littlest niece. So here is Violet on Christmas:
She didn't care much what was IN the packages, but she really liked opening them. The paper sounds were very fun!
So the great story of 2007...I like to call it the "Joy of Home Ownership." Our tub drain was starting to drain slower and slower, so Mat pulled off the drain to pull out the hair. There wasn't any hair in there, so I suggested that he plunge the drain. So he plunged it and all of a sudden it was completely stopped up. Argh! So we bought some drano type stuff (and then later I read how horrible that stuff is) and that didn't do a thing.
So we head to Home Depot, armed with our gift card from Mat's Grandma and buy ourselves a snake. We come home and Mat works for about an hour on the drain with the snake. Finally, he calls me in the bathroom and this is what I see when I come in:
EWWW!!! This is not our hair, by the way! So I just had to take a picture and include it for all to see. Even with this little incident we just love our house so much. We are so thankful every day that we can afford it and it is totally ours. I hope we can do some home improvement projects soon, but for now it is just wonderful.
In wedding news, I finally have my half of the bridal party set! My sister is going to be the Maid of Honor and Joy is going to be my Bridesmaid. I am so excited and can't wait to start looking at dresses. I promised they wouldn't be too horrible.
Mat and I are off to the gym and then to the grocery store this afternoon. Then we are free to do whatever we want! I think we might watch a movie and play a video game. We have been playing this fun game called Ratchet and Clank, Up Your Arsenal. I forget how much I love playing video games until I start playing them again.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

TGIF

I do love my weekends! Mine can officially start now that I'm home from the gym and had dinner. Now we can watch a movie or something fun like that. I think I need to go into work tomorrow for a little bit, but hopefully it won't be too long.

We watched Mr. Brooks last night. This was kind of strange, but not too bad. I did a little knitting on my latest project, but sometimes my hands get so cold when I knit. The weather has been strange here and not too cold. But I think that is supposed to change this weekend. We still had snow from last week, but it is gone now after today.

I don't know what Mat and I are up to this weekend. There is a wedding show this weekend and next, but we don't really feel like we need to go to the wedding shows. So much has already been done, I don't know what we would look for there. It might be kind of fun just to walk around. Who knows? My sister and I might be hanging out tomorrow night, but that is still up in the air right now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Day two of working out! I'm already feeling sore from tonight's workout. I didn't feel too sore from yesterday, but I think it is going to really catch up with me tomorrow morning!

We did sit down and watch a movie tonight: Captivity. It wasn't totally horrible, but definitely not the best movie we've ever seen. I think Mat might have hated it a little. But I always like those really bad horror movies.

This week is a strange one since I had a day off in the middle of the week. But it is nice to feel like I am so close to the weekend!

We did find out today that Mat will have almost two weeks for us to take our honeymoon! Now we just need to decide where we are going. We actually decided and then when I looked up the cruise we wanted to go on today it was totally sold out. Dang. So now we are back to the beginning. Maybe not the total beginning, but we still haven't decided.

I think it is time for me to turn in. More tomorrow!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a fabulous New Year and Christmas! Mat and I had a great holiday season. We got to spend it with both our families, which was so fun that my parents were here! My aunt and uncle even came in for New Year's on their annual trip to McCall, so we got to see them on their way there and their way back.

We have some fun pictures of our youngest niece Violet on her first Christmas that I will post soon. She loved unwrapping the presents! They could have been empty for all she cared, she just liked tearing off the paper.

We also had our first houseguest this past weekend! Our niece Justis came to stay with us on Saturday night. We had lots of fun playing Disney Scene It, Clue and watching Monsters Inc. We hope she can come back soon!

As far as our New Year's resolutions go...

We are getting in shape for the wedding and honeymoon. We finally feel like we have enough to join the YMCA, so we started today. It was actually pretty fun to go with Mat and get to work out together. So we're going to be totally hot soon. :)

I am planning to do more yoga! It really helps to relax me and that is great for times when my job gets pretty stressful. I am also hoping the working out will help with that!

My other resolution is to blog more. I really enjoy it and I just don't feel like I set the time aside to do it. So here's hoping that I can find the time!

Mat plans to cut down on his candy intake. He loves candy, so this might be a hard one for him, but I know he can do it. And he doesn't plan to eliminate it completely.

So wish us luck! And I wish you all luck on your resolutions. Hugs and Kisses!
